COVID Reminder: As we head into winter we have a number of children at home sick at the moment with various illnesses. Please remember to let the school know if your child has tested positive for Covid, as we are still required to inform the Ministry of Education. Thank you.

SchoolDocs: Policies and Procedures:

In Term Two, the focus continues to be on Health and Safety Management. Not all policies are reviewed by parents. This term parents are invited to comment on the following topics: Healthcare: Medicine, Managing Minor/Moderate Injury, Managing Serious Injury and illness, and Infectious Diseases.
Search for the policy (under the school emblem), click on the topic name link, read through the policy then click the red UNDER REVIEW flag (top right hand corner of the page) and submit your feedback. We consider all feedback given.
This term’s policies will be approved at our School Board Meeting on 22nd June.
Jumping June: By now you would have received information about our Jumping June event. At St Joseph’s our purpose for participating in this skipping event was for fitness, fun and a worthy cause. There was never any expectation to raise large amounts of money for personal gain (prizes). We have explained to our children that they should be realistic and a small amount is enough. The Heart Foundation will be grateful to receive any funds. Our school fundraising focus this year is our Ako 2 Year 5&6 school camp later in Term 4.
Ako 2 Camp Totara Springs Fundraising Notices: We have a few initiatives going on this term for our camp fundraising. As you will be aware, our first Hot Dog Lunch will take place this Friday, and then every second week until the end of the term. Hot Dogs will cost $2.50. Chocolate bars will also be on sale for $2ea.
Another initiative we have going is our Whittaker’s Chocolate boxes being sold for $2.00 a bar. This will continue for 3 weeks and the last day of sales will be the 17th June. If you see anyone selling them from St Joseph’s, buy one, you know you deserve it!
Next Year 2023: St Joseph’s School, Pukekohe turns 100!
Last night, an initial planning group met to start forming ideas to celebrate 100 years of St Joseph’s School, Pukekohe. We are wanting to hold a memorable event to mark this special occasion across our generations. We welcome you to join us at our next Centennial meeting on Wednesday the 29th of June at 7pm in the school staffroom. We would love to have representation from our foundation families.
Alternatively, if you want to offer your support in any way we would love to hear from you. We are hoping to get people involved that may have skills in graphic design, advertising/promotion, website creator, signage, photography, or sponsorship. So spread the news and get involved. It is going to be fun.
Please send us an email to 100years@stjosephs.co.nz.
St Joseph’s Development Trust: The AGM of the St Joseph’s Development Trust will be held at 7 pm on Thursday 9 June in our staffroom. If you would like to attend please let Mrs Hall know principal@stjosephs.co.nz . Thank you.
